The Midwest experiences all four seasons, so roadways are subjected to all types of severe weather. UNIQUE® Paving Materials has products for pavement repair that can be used in any weather situation and can even help prevent further weather damage in some cases.
Key Pavement Preservation Products
These products are proven to work well in the climate of the Midwest region:
UPM® Cold Mix: UPM® Cold Mix asphalt repair is a cold patch asphalt mix that is easy to use and effective in most any climate. One of the best benefits is that it is adjusted to work year round, and can be stockpiled for use throughout the year as needed, rather than having to purchase a new set every few months or every time the season changes. No need to go through the long process of using HMA. Learn More…
KOLD-FLO® Asphalt Crack Filler: KOLD-FLO® crack filler is a pourable crack filler that requires no heating or special preparation – you can use it straight out of the container! It’s a modified crack filler than prevents cracks from becoming potholes by sealing against anything that would cause further crumbling. Learn More…
These Municipalities Choose UNIQUE®
We are proud to share some of our success stories from cities throughout the Midwest region!
Hamilton, OH
Kold Flo® Crack Filler was used at a municipal garage in Hamilton, OH to fill ¼” cracks throughout the pavement. Over a 2 month period, the asphalt repair remained thoroughly intact, while being driven over regularly.
Harrison County, KY
Harrison County’s City Street Department used UPM® to repair large potholes on a highly-trafficked bridge. The potholes had been repaired using other cold mixes with little success, while UPM stayed in the hole and held the repair under normal traffic conditions.
Winchester, KY
In Winchester, KY, we were able to use UPM® in a wet pothole without removing the water initially. This was unique, too, as it was a pothole in a brick road. The road was opened to traffic immediately.
Topeka, KS
This application of UPM® was in a low-traffic area in a dry climate. The concrete had already failed due to poor base condition and needed building out from the foundation up. With gravel and UPM®, the large area was stabilized.
